About
I am a 30-something journalist and mum of two girls and live in an outer-east suburb of Melbourne, Australia.
I am writing this blog because I really, really want need to get my act together with my personal writing and keeping a blog will be a good way to do this…I hope!
Besides being besotted with my gorgeous daughters and enjoying life with my family, I love news, cinema and tv, stand up comedy and I read true crime books and blogs – lots of them.
Having lived in London for many years until 2006, (and the proud holder of British citizenship for my troubles!), I am a fan of many things British, especially my husband.
I have a BA in Journalism from RMIT and have worked for magazines in Australia (Disney Adventures, New Idea) and UK В and in client publishing (Optometrists Association Australia). I now work as a reporter for a community newspaper group in Melbourne and love it!
A career-break away from journalism in the eary noughties resulted in me doing the fantastic Graduate Teachers Programme (GTP) and becoming a qualified teacher in England & Wales (English).В I worked at London schools John Kelly Boys’ Technology College (Neasden) and Whitmore High School (Harrow) from 2003-2006. It was an an amazing, exhausting and inspiring journey and all respect to teachers! They are amazing and it is one of THE HARDEST jobs in the world! (Those who CAN, TEACH!!)
I hope you enjoy this blog and I thank you for stopping by. (You may notice that I am a fan of exclamation marks and ellipses…!)
